Which Direction CT? #YouHaveAChoice

We are at a crossroads in the 2nd District, and in the state…

Are we going to make a change or are we going to stay on the same old failed path over the fiscal cliff?

Have you taken a look at your paycheck recently? Seriously how much of your paycheck is taken out due to the CT State Income Tax? Do you look around & see any value for the amount of money that is coming out of your family’s paychecks each pay-period?

It’s been 25 years ago that elected officials like Eric who lied to us about the tax remaining small & being only temporary forced this tax upon us…

Did you watch or actually attend the Tax Protest Rally at the capitol back then?

Poll – 25 Years CT Income Taxes

Quick poll – check all that apply

This is the 25th anniversary year of the CT State Income Tax that the Democrat Majority in the General Assembly put into place. We were told that the Income Tax would be "Temporary" & remain at the "same low rate" in exchange our Sales Tax was lowered & would also remain at the "new lower rate". These Promises have been broken Repeatedly by the career politicians many who have been in elected offices for over 30 years. Do you feel that our elected officials have Lost Touch with the People & Do Not Care that they are Harming Our Families with these Increases in Taxes & Cutting of Human Services?

Yes I feel that they have lost touch
Yes My Family has been harmed by the cuts in services
Yes I lost my job because the company left the state due to the increased taxes
Yes I lost my job because of state budget cuts
Yes my family has less money to spend because of increased taxes
Yes I feel the elected majority do not care about my family
Yes I feel the elected majority say anything so they can get elected/reelected then break their promises
Yes I feel they break their promises I'm still waiting for our promised $55 refund from 2014
I don't pay taxes
I don't pay attention to politics so I do not know what promises were broken

Born Broke Summary from Yankee Institute

This summary below is from the Yankee Institute published by Zachary Janowski.
If we continue on our current financial path without changes in how our state spends money we are on the path for financial ruin.

Our children need for us to be responsible & accountable in how we spend the money now & the bonds which we take out for frivolous spending because our elected officials do not care about the debt that they are making.

The democrat controlled general assembly has been using the state’s credit card to buy the various “toys” & projects to reward their rich friends with then after they run up the bill they go out & borrow more money via bonds to pay for the playthings & special interests that they are indebted to.

While the attention is on the attack ads for the governor’s race by Malloy trying to distract from his policies pushed through by the democrat controlled general assembly the biggest problem that we in CT have are men & women who are career politicians who have no intention of helping the businesses & families in CT that do not put money into their pockets.

If these elected officials remain in office CT will not grow & CT will remain in the bottom 10 list of worst states in the country. #NowIsTheTime for you to seriously consider how you will vote this year.

Are you happy with the high unemployment as an increasing number of businesses are leaving for states with less taxes & regulations that stifle their growth?
Are you tired of seeing nothing but low wage retail or fast food jobs available while our factories & office buildings sit vacant?
Are you tired of rising taxes & rising prices while your paycheck shrinks?

If you are tired of the tax & spend & borrow & then raise more taxes policies that are coming from our general assembly then #YouHaveAChoice to make this election.

Will you re-elect the men & women who put in the income tax & have raised taxes in one way or another almost every year since? Choosing that option will ensure that we will have 4 more years of the same tax & spend & raising of taxes that we have had these past 25 – 30 years.

If you are ready for the #CTComeBack then #NowIsTheTime for YOU to #ChooseWisely
#VoteRepublican this year instead of the status quo
#Vote for a #FreshNewStart

The CT GOP has a slate of candidates which have ideas plans to get CT back on to the right track.
We want all of our families & children to prosper & to bring CT Back to its former glory.
This year vote for us on the Republican Ticket & give your family & your paycheck the break that it needs from all of these taxes due to irresponsible spending that the democrats have been doing all these many years.

Communications – Yes I want to hear from YOU

One of the things that I feel is the biggest reason for our state & our country falling apart is the lack of communications between the citizens & the elected officials once they get into office

When our country was founded it was designed with the idea that our elected officials would live & continue to work among the citizens of the state & therefore would be accessible to the citizens during the year.
We were supposed to be have ongoing discussions about what is occurring in our areas with the elected but that seems to have been forgotten.

Unfortunately as the many years have passed there has been a disconnect between the people & the elected.
The elected have become a “class” of people that have become removed from the people.
As the distance between the elected & the people grows the Special Interests drive a wedge with their money to push the elected to make & vote for laws that do nothing to help our families, small businesses & seniors & many times have in fact been been laws that have been outright hurtful to our citizens.

I have several social media connections as a way to interact.
I also have a 24-7 voice mail as a way for voters to keep in contact which I intend to keep going as a way for us to communicate.
I want to have discussions via teleconference about the proposed laws that are being reviewed; as well as asking for input on what is deemed to be a problem.
If there is something that the citizens feel is a problem how do citizens in the 2nd District feel should be the options for solving that problem.

When was the Last Time that YOU were asked for input on the lawmaking process?

“We the People” means just that; the people who live in the 2nd District are the people whose needs are supposed to be the primary concern of the Senator that is sent up to represent them up in the halls of Hartford’s Legislative Building.
Special Interest Groups & Lobbyists should not be given the access to our elected that the citizens do not have on a daily basis.

Where are you in the Social Media world?

I think that one reason that people are so disconnected from the elected people is due to not being connected to them on a more personal level so there is no accountability between the people being elected & the citizens in our towns, I say we can change this right now

I do want to change this & am looking for the best ways to connect with the people in the 2nd District

In addition to this blog which has comments enabled I am on FaceBook & G+ & YouTube

I have opened up a 24/7 voicemail so that regardless of the time of day someone can call & leave me a message about what they think is a problem, a suggestion about what we should work on to improve life for all of us & any money saving ideas that we can look into & any potential fraud that might be needing to get looked at.

Let’s work together to turn the 2nd District & our state around & back on to the right track

Leave us some comments & let us get connected

#CTPolitics – Visconti & Pelto The Waiting Game Aug 2014

“Spoilers” that is what both Joe Visconti & Jonathan Pelto are being called by their parties.

Joe is a Republican petitioning his way on to the ballot this year. He & his team of volunteers collected between 10,000 & 10,500 signatures & turned them into the 169 town clerks after getting all of the pages notarized.

Jonathan is a Democrat who has started his own party in addition to collecting signatures. It is unknown at this time how many signatures Jonathan has turned into the town clerks.

This is quite an interesting year in politics in CT
