#CTPolitics Visconti – Pelto Are they “Serious Contenders?” Aug 2014

Discussion about the candidates back in August, lots of changes since then…

Since the taping of that discussion Pelto has been officially Disqualified due to being 3,000 short of the 7,500 required signatures to get on the ballot.
Visconti & team have been moving right along attending fairs, handshaking & doing some public speaking on the radio interviews & tv interviews.

There are hot debates going on over on facebook about politics, policies & who can & can not win for Governor

Sadly I see friends turning into enemies as the debates heat up & people are getting rather nasty. What is rather bothersome is with all of the arguing going on about the top of the ticket is that people should instead be working with their local state representative candidates & state senate candidates. If we change the top of the 2 slots but still have the same general assembly there is no change from what we’re had that got us into this economic mess in the first place.

#CTPolitics – Visconti & Pelto The Waiting Game Aug 2014

“Spoilers” that is what both Joe Visconti & Jonathan Pelto are being called by their parties.

Joe is a Republican petitioning his way on to the ballot this year. He & his team of volunteers collected between 10,000 & 10,500 signatures & turned them into the 169 town clerks after getting all of the pages notarized.

Jonathan is a Democrat who has started his own party in addition to collecting signatures. It is unknown at this time how many signatures Jonathan has turned into the town clerks.

This is quite an interesting year in politics in CT

Hold on to your hats & go get a manicure to clean up your bitten nails; because it’s about to get even more interesting once the debates get going

Signs Just Arrived!

For those who have run before & career politicians it’s no biggie
But today I am a happy excited first timer
So for me the arrival of my 1st 100 yard signs is a big deal

Poor UPS guy those were Heavy Boxes!
I think at least 100-150lbs of signage & stakes total?
I will update later with an edit I think the poundage was listed on the tracking ticket
1 box of 100 stakes = 29lbs
1 box of 100 coraplast signs + 2 car door magnets = 49lbs

I am glad the delivery was when Hubby was home there is No Way I could lift those boxes
much less bring them up the stairs

I think the UPS guy almost had a heart attack as my Destructo Pup rushed down the stairs
Percy almost knocked me down in his excitement to see who was at the door
I thought that Hubby had grabbed him but thankfully we got the screendoor closed in time

So now to start making calls for those who already said they wanted them

My 1st 100 signs have arrived!

We will Not Conform event 7-22 & 7-29

Last night 7-22-14 across the country cinemas were showing the live event “We Will Not Comply”

Some cinemas were filled to capacity others only a few people attended but everyone learned something new

Several of us who attended the Bloomfield Cinema introduced ourselves to each other & chit chatted about what we saw & heard & possible next steps

The manager of the cinema said that he will make available Buy 1 Get 1 coupons for those who want to attend the replay event on the 29th so call them directly to get the information on where those will be available if you missed the Live Event yesterday

As a Homeschool Mother I am encouraging parents to homeschool if they can make the commitment – there are many more options out there now than when I was educating my children

Although my own children are grown I am fighting for All of Our Children & Families to have their tax dollars spent on QUALITY Education rather than wasted making a few select businessmen like Bill Gates richer

This election cycle make it your personal mission to find out where each of the candidates stand on Common Core

I know that it can be frustrating as a citizen to feel that you are not being listened to, but during election years you do have a bit more access to the candidates & make use of this season to make informed choices about where each stands regardless of party Who Will Fight for Your Family?

If you live in the CT 2nd Senate District you have a candidate here who is going to fight for your family to remove Common Core from CT & make certain that parents who want to homeschool are not given a hard time in the process of removing their children from public schools

If you still do not fully understand what common core is & why it is bad for our children or how to get it out of our state then I do suggest that you attend the Replay Event on the 29th with family & friends to discuss what you’re seeing & hearing & compare notes about what you know is going on in your schools & taxes increases for the BoE & school administrations
